Mr. Favre is a 35-year resident of Lakewood and has a degree in Justice Systems from Lorain County Community College and served in the Army National Guard. He has been a member of the Lakewood Police Department since 1973 as a patrol officer, patrol investigator, juvenile officer, detective, and sergeant. As a police officer, Mr. Favre has received various commendations and service awards from the Police Department, Lakewood City Council, the Office of the Mayor, and the Westshore Enforcement Bureau. He has also received the Cox Cable Cleveland Area Spotlight Award.
Mr. Favre has served on the Executive Board of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25 as Chairman of the Lakewood Division, and chaired and served on county and state F.O.P. committees. He has also served as president of the Metropolitan Crime Bureau of Cuyahoga County and the Ohio Association of Polygraph Examiners, the Lakewood Softball Commission, the Lakewood Youth Athletic Commission, the Lakewood High School Athletic Boosters, and is a member of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, Lakewood Alive, Grow Lakewood Committee, Lakewood Kiwanis, the Ohio Identification Officers Association, and the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA). He has been recognized as a Distinguished Board Member by the OSBA.
Mr. Favre is serving his fourth term as a member of the Lakewood Board of Education. Mr. Favre served as President in 2000, 2005, and 2009. He and his wife Gladys have four children who have attended Lakewood Schools. Both have been members of PTA and have served on the Lakewood High School Principal’s Advisory Committee.
